Girls Varsity Softball vs. Comstock Park High School

Falcons Win: 17 - 0
WEST CATHOLIC WINS!  On Wednesday, Varsity Softball traveled to Comstock Park to take on the Panthers in the last Double Header of the regular season before post-season play getting underway this coming weekend.  A big night for the Falcons, West Catholic dominated both games taking home two wins after securing 17-0 victories in both contests finishing the regular season with 21 wins. Players of note: Jordan Empie with 4 Ks in a perfect game in game 1. Paige Clinger was 5 for 5 with 7 RBI, a triple and a walk off Grand Slam in game 2. Cate Sanders was 4 for 5 with 2 triples. Cam Wagner was 3 for 3 with 6 RBI. Sophie North struckout 5 in a shutout in game 2. Our ladies will be back in action this Saturday as we head to Grandville Calvin Christian for the MHSAA Districts. Go West!

Falcons Win: 18 - 2
WEST CATHOLIC WINS TWO!  On Thursday, our Varsity Softball team hosted Belding in a non-league double header with the Black Knights coming to West Catholic for two games. Honoring the 2023 Seniors as well, the Falcons had one memorable night as they took both games from Belding. Winning game one by a score of 15-0 and then game two 18-2, the Falcons broke .500 play again and now have a winning record. The final contests at home for the season, the girls are back in action next week Wednesday, May 31 as they head to Comstock Park for the final two games of the regular season in a non-league double header.  Following the contests with Comstock Park, the Falcons will head into postseason play where they will compete in the MHSAA Districts on Saturday, June 3 at Calvin Christian.  State wise last night, both pitchers for the Falcons were electric. Sophomore Jordan Empie in game one threw a perfect game no-hitter allowing zero walks, hits, and recording five strikeouts. In the field too, the defense kept the game perfect by not giving up a single error. Additionally, in the second game Sophie North recorded her 100th strikeout of the season!  At the plate, Becca Tuttle stayed hot recording multiple hits and RBI's, as well as Paige Clinger having three hits in the first game as well. Additional key performances were led by Reese Polega at the dish and several other offensive contributions from Cate Sanders and Emma Chrystan.  Congrats, ladies on an awesome performance! Go West!

Falcons Win: 13 - 12
WEST CATHOLIC WINS! SWEEPS SATURDAY vs. FHC & SC It was a Double Header Saturday for the Varsity Softball team as they headed to Conrerstone University to take on a pair of non-conference opponents in Forest Hills Central and Grand Rapids South Christian.  Coming away with two huge wins, the Falcons bested the Rangers 19-9 in game one and won in walk-off fashion 13-12 over a very good South Christian team in game two.  The offense on Saturday was led by Senior Emma Chrystan who went 6 fo 8 on the day. In addition, Sophomore Paige Clinger and Junior Becca Tuttle each tallied five hits of their own with Tuttle hitting a Home Run and totalling 5 RBIs. Senior Sophie North also helped production with 5 RBIs of her own.  The Falcons are back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25 for a league Double Header when they travel to take on Allendale. Go West! 
Girls Varsity Softball vs. Sparta Senior High School

Falcons Win: 15 - 7
West Catholic Wins! Yesterday, the Varsity Softball Falcons swept a non-conference Double Header yesterday over Sparta winning the first hame 6-2 and the second game15-7. Now 6-2 on the season, the ladies will play tomorrow, Saturday, April 22 at Cornerstone University versus oth Forest Hills Central at noon and South Christian at 2:00pm.  Stats wise, in the circle yesterday, Sophie North had 13 K's and at the dish, Paige Clinger, Jordan Empie, & Reese Polega combined to go 12 for 22 offensively. Go West!

Falcons Win: 12 - 10
Falcons Split with Holland Christian  Last night the Falcons played a pair with Holland Christian and split winning game one 12-10 and dropping the second to the Maroons 6-9.  Now 4-2 on the season, the girls stayed hot at the plate with three Falcons leading the way with the bats. Sophomore Jordan Empie was 6 for 8 at the dish with two doubles and five runs scored. In addition, Junior Becca Tuttle was also 6 for 8 with a double and triple with 4 RBIs and Freshman Cate Sanders was 4 for 6 with 4 RBIs.  The Falcons return to the field tomorrw, Thursday April 20 for a Home Double Header versus non-conference opponent, Sparta. Game one starts at 4:00pm. Go West!

Falcons Win: 4 - 3
WEST CATHOLIC SPLITS DOUBLE HEADER Thursday evening our Varsity Softball squad took on a very competitive Northview team in a non-conference Double Header. Ending in a 1-1 split, West Catholic took game one by a score of 4-3 in 7 innings closing the door in the top half of the seventh. The second game belonged to Northview as the Wildcats claimed a 7-1 victory.  Key contributors Thursday included Sophie North going 4-5 at the plate and pitching 5 K's in 4 innings. Additionally, Jordan Empie was 3-6 at the plate including a 2 RBI scoring double in game 1. In the circle, Empie pitched a total of 9 innings with 6K's only giving up 1 earned run. Becca Tuttle also continued to stay hot at the plate with three hits on the day.  The Falcons return to the field this coming Tuesday, April 18 when OK-Blue Conference opponent Holland Christian comes to West Catholic for a Double Header. Game one starts at 4:00pm. Hope to see you there. Go West!
