GR Christian Co-Op Hockey vs. Forest Hills Co-Op The eagles, co-op hockey team made the most of Senior night, celebrating our six seniors, and getting them the win as they beat Forest Hills Northern/Eastern 3-1. Senior Brendan Farmer scored two goals in the first period to give the Eagles a lead that they would not relinquish. Jack Micus assisted on the first goal.  Brody Baysore, and Josh Trendt assisted on his second. In the second period, Josh Trendt added a third goal off a pass from Brody Baysore from behind the net, Farmer also assisted on the goal.   Brayden Melinn and Cole Butler combined for the win stopping 46 shots in the game. Friday night the Eagles will face portage Central in their final regular season game. Game time is 4 o’clock at Eagles Ice Center.  

GR Christian Co-Op Hockey For the first time in over ten years, Eagles Co-Op Hockey has won the BAUM Conference Title!  The Eagles took on Jenison Friday night where a win over the Wildcats would clinch at least a share of the first place crown in the conference. Winning by a score of 2-1, the Eagles did just that. On Saturday however, the Forest Hills Co-Op Hockey Team needed a win to remain tied atop of the conference with the Eagles but the 1-4 loss to Mona Shores sealed it for GR Christian's Co-Op squad.  The next game for the Eagles is Tuesday, February 14 where they will take on that same Forest Hills Co-Op team at Home starting at 6:00pm. Congratulations to the Eagles and our Falcons on your Conference Championship! 

GR Christian Co-Op Hockey Your Eagles co-op hockey team extended their league winning streak to six games last night eating Mona Shores 5 to 1 at the Eagles Ice Center. The Eagles started the game out, not having their best first period. They were out shot 9–3 in the first period and gave up a goal with 15 seconds to go.   In the second, the team came out with a more focused effort. Josh Vanschepen drove wide around the defenseman and fed Cam Laufer for a one timer beating the Mona goalie far side.  One minute later, Colton Laufer scored on the power-play off Coach Quaine’s set play.  Jack Micus and Josh Hooper assisted on the goal. Later in the second Josh VanSchepen scored beating the goalie far blocker side.  Laufer and Laufer assisted on the goal. The game remained 3-1 until 2 minutes to go in the third period. Josh Hooper scored on the empty net with Colton Laufer assisting on the goal.  Then Groszkiewicz added a second empty net goal with Hooper drawing another assist. The next Eagles game is a league game Friday at Jenison. Game time is 4:30 as the Eagles look to extend their league winning streak to 7. A win over Jenison would clinch at least a share of the Conference Championship. 

GR Christian Co-Op Varsity Ice Hockey The Eagles Co-OP Hockey team extended their win streak to five games beating Jenison 3-2. While it wasn't the teams best effort, Brayden Melinn stood tall in the net making some huge saves in the third period to preserve the 3-2 win. The Eagles scored two minutes into the first. Danny Groszkiewicz getting a back door pass from Landon Smith. Collin Peal assisted on the next play. Next in scoring, Brody Baysore scored on a breakaway beating the goalie over his blocker. Brendan Farmer assisted on the goal as well. The third period goal was scored by Colton Laufer two minutes into the period. This weekend, the Eagles will travel to the Trenton Showcase tournament to take on Warren De La Salle on Friday and Lake Orion on Saturday. With the win over Jenison, this puts the Eagles back into first place with three games to play.
