Your Eagles co-op hockey team extended their league winning streak to six games last night eating Mona Shores 5 to 1 at the Eagles Ice Center.

The Eagles started the game out, not having their best first period. They were out shot 9–3 in the first period and gave up a goal with 15 seconds to go.  

In the second, the team came out with a more focused effort. Josh Vanschepen drove wide around the defenseman and fed Cam Laufer for a one timer beating the Mona goalie far side.  One minute later, Colton Laufer scored on the power-play off Coach Quaine’s set play.  Jack Micus and Josh Hooper assisted on the goal. Later in the second Josh VanSchepen scored beating the goalie far blocker side.  Laufer and Laufer assisted on the goal. The game remained 3-1 until 2 minutes to go in the third period. Josh Hooper scored on the empty net with Colton Laufer assisting on the goal.  Then Groszkiewicz added a second empty net goal with Hooper drawing another assist. The next Eagles game is a league game Friday at Jenison. Game time is 4:30 as the Eagles look to extend their league winning streak to 7. A win over Jenison would clinch at least a share of the Conference Championship.
