West Catholic Varsity Baseball Team traveled to Wayland on Saturday to take part in the Wayland Invitational.

In game one the Falcons were up against Tri County, and it didn't take them long to get on the board as Bo Arndt hit the first pitch of the game over the left field fence for a Home Run. Arndt would also add a double in the game.  Nic Blundy also went deep on Tri County pitching for a Home Run of his own.  Adding to the 12 hit affair for the Falcons was Erik Bouwhuis 2 hits, Gaetano Vallone Double/Single, Spencer Vainavicz Double/2 Singles, and Matt Bilski 2 Singles.

Nic Blundy pitched the complete game shutout for the Falcons, allowing only three hits while striking out 5 and walking 1. 

In the Championship game, the Falcons took on the host from Wayland and won going away 16-4.  Sophomore Brennen Cornelius got the complete game victory for West Catholic, he allowed 4 runs, two earned, 5 hits, stuck out 5, and walked 5.

Offensively the Falcons were paced by Mitchell Doyle's 4 RBI, to go along with 3 hits.  Bo Arndt also had 4 RBI on 2 hits.  Tyler Hofmann added a pair of singles for West Catholic, while Gaetano Vallone singled and Spencer Vainavicz doubled.

The wins improve to Falcons overall season record to 11-6. West Catholic is off until Tuesday when the travel to Spring Lake for a very important OK Blue DH.  Game 1 slated to start at 4:15 PM. Hope to see you there to support your Falcons.
