Announcements and Important Events
The Grand Rapids West Catholic Co-Op hockey team survived quite the road trip to Detroit this weekend at the Trenton Showcase. Heading into the game shorthanded with injuries and illness, the team played an incredible first half of the game, outshooting Port Huron Northern 15 to 8 with neither team able to score a goal. Around the eight minute mark on the second period, our only net-minder Noah Herzhaft injured his ankle and was unable to continue. The options available were to forfeit the game, and lose 1 to 0 or to continue the game playing without a goalie in the net. We continued to play, and lost the game 9 to 1. Benj Bultema scored a goal in the third with Tommy Doyle assisting on the play. The team fought hard and kept playing no matter what the score was. Their record is now 8-11-1-2 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
