The West Catholic Falcon JV baseball team opened their season with a double header sweep of Catholic Central on Thursday, April 12 by the scores of 6-3 and 6-1.
In the opener, Kyle Sakoski started on the mound and pitched four innings allowing three runs on five hits, and striking out four. Nick Korzeniauskas picked up the save, pitching the last three innings allowing no runs on 3 hits. Sakoski also had a big day at the plate with three hits and three RBI. Connor Chrystan and Brennan Cornelius had two hits each, Andrew Kasparak and Adam Bocian also had hits.
In game two, Connor Chrystan pitched a complete game, giving up one run on four hits, and four strikeouts. Offensively for the Falcons Brennan Cornelius and Kyle Sakoski had two hits each, including a double, Nick Korzeniauskas doubled, and Josh Corey, Adam Bocian, Jake Bozek, and Connor Chrystan had singles.
The JV Falcons next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 17 at Allendale.
