West Catholic Varsity Baseball Team outhit the Spartans Thursday afternoon in the Series Finale at Sparta, but lose 4-3. Spencer Vainavicz took the loss for the Falcons allowing 4 runs and 5 hits, he struck out 6 and walked 6. Nick VanVliet pitched well in relief, only allowing 1 hit.
Vainavicz led the Falcons at the plate with two hits, one was a bases loaded clearing double. Bo Arndt and Tyler Hofmann each doubled for West Catholic. Erik Bouwhuis, Gaetano Vallone, Caden Wright, VanVliet, and Josh Tuttle each added a hit for the Falcons.
The loss drops the Falcons to 7-4 in the OK Blue good for second place behind Allendale and 9-6 overall. West Catholic travel to Wayland on Saturday 5/5 to take part in the Wayland Invitational, first game at 10 AM versus Tri County. Wayland and Hopkins are on the other side of the bracket.
