TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS!
Advancing to the Saturday Finale thanks to a win over Wyoming in the morning contest, the Falcons played a second game on Saturday at the Caledonia Scotland Yard Tournament where they took on the hosting Fighting Scots from Caledonia for a 3:15pm start time.
Winning 3-2 in a shoot-out, West Catholic was once again led by Landon Smith who found the back of net two times in regulation making it his fifth goal on the season in just three games. Vic Russo continued his offensive approach with another assist of his own and in crunch time goaltender Ian Medvecky stopped three shots in the shootout with Sean Boonstra sealing the deal and clinching the win as the 6th shooter in the contest.
Now 3-0 on the young season, the Falcons return to the field Monday, August 21 for their first home game of the year with Elk Rapids coming to Falcon Stadium. Game starts at 6:45pm. Hope to see you there! Go West!
