West Catholic claimed their 5th District Championship in a hard fought game over rivals Catholic Central. The Falcons used balanced scoring to beat the Cougars 43-36. Paige Seely-London led the team in scoring with 12. Reese Polega finished with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Emma Tuttle led the team in rebounds with 13, while adding 5 points. Alexis Asekomeh contributed 6 points and 5 rebounds. Elisha Dykstra chipped in 5 points. Becca Tuttle added 4 points and 5 assists. The game was won on the defensive side of the ball with grit and defensive intensity.
The 23-1 Falcons move on to the regional semi-finals against Unity Christian on Monday 3/11 at Sparta High School. Game time is set for 5:30pm.
