The West Catholic varsity girls basketball team played their first home game of the young season Thursday night against the visiting Muskegon Big Reds. The Falcons started fast in the first quarter behind 19 points from senior Abbey Kimball and ran out to a commanding 27-6 lead. The Falcons defensive pressure created problems for the Big Reds in the second quarter and Falcons led 48-16 at the half. Junior Cadence Dykstra had a strong game running the West Catholic offense and had 10 points including 4-4 from the free throw line. As a team West went 21-23 from the charity stripe. Abbey Kimball had a new career high with 43 points and the Falcons are now 3-0. West Catholic will play next at the Cornerstone Holiday Tournament on Tuesday against Forest Hills Central. Tip is scheduled for 3:00pm. Go West!
