On an incredibly hot course, the same sentiment and words were shared by all of the female harriers: "Muggy, sweaty, and heavy." The first meet - Saturday - the annual Michigan Catholic Invitational in DeWitt, was hopefully the hottest conditions the team will endure this season! Strong running helped them keep the gaps small, with the top 5 varsity runners finishing close despite the heat slowed times. The girls took home a division win and plaque for the Knights of Columbus Division! Medalists included Maggie Duba, who lead the way for the varsity girls with an 8th place finish, followed by Ali Junewick - 13th, Lily LeSarge - 15th, and Abby Druelle - 18th.,  Nathalie Strockis was 3rd place in the JV side, with a time that moved her back up to 5th place on Varsity, while Audrey Mckeiver earned 5th place in the 2 mile race! The team trained well in practices and training in the summer to be well adept of handling the conditions! The next race is the 2 mile race at Belding! Good start to the season, a lot of good racing still to come! Go west!
