The Falcons Co-op Boys Varsity hockey team lost a close hard fought battle with Grand Rapids Catholic Central 3-2. After going down a goal in the first period, they came out in the second with a lot more energy. Catholic Central scored their second goal to go up 2 - 0 and the Falcons responded with a goal from Corbin Venckus with assists going to Tommy Doyle and Jake Noordewier. The Falcons scored eight minutes into the third period as Matthew Ydenberg scored on a rush. Assisting on the play were Ben Baysore and Noordewier with his second of the night. Catholic Central scored with five minutes left in the 3rd period to go up 3 to 2 and despite some great chances and a shot off the post, the Falcons were unable to notch their third goal of the game. Shots on goal were 35 to 26 in favor of Catholic Central. The Falcons had 10 blocked shots, and Noah Herzhaft had 23 saves in the game.
