Frey wraps up Successful HS XC Career at State Meet!

Falcons Lose: -
Congratulations to Edward Frey who ran in the state meet at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan Saturday! He raced in the cold weather and not so pleasant (muddy!) course to run a 16:59, moving up to 62nd in the state for Division 2! He has come a long way since freshman year all from his constant work ethic and competitiveness. His ability to never settle was infectious on the team! He set a goal for himself to make it to state and be all conference and he has done that and more! The team is very proud of him and wishes him the best in his future years of running! Great job Edward! You will be missed!

Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country Team for finishing 11th as they competed for the first time in Division 2 at the Regional meet Saturday in Allendale! The smallest D2 team in the state, at a hugely competitive regional, four team members raced their best time ever! Kolbe Mills, Edward Frey, Joseph Spielmaker, and Joey Nawrocki all ran PR's, and Damien Logan also raced his fastest time this season! The Boys finished the season as Champions at one Invitational, Runner-Up at two, third place at another, and fifth in the Conference! Great Season Guys!

Falcons Win: 119.00 - 28
The Boys Cross Country team finished fifth in the OK Blue Conference Championship meet on Tuesday at Sparta. The team raced competitively, and although the windy conditions prevented any PR's, two West Catholic runners earned an All Conference Honorable Mention! Congratulations to the Mills Brothers, Kolbe (14th) and Malachi (18th) for earning this honor and representing West Catholic Boys Cross Country!

On a hot, muddy, hilly course, the Boys Cross Country team - absent a varsity and jv runner - were able to pull together and bring home the third place trophy at the Saranac Color Run Invitational! Enduring multiple falls through many thick, slick mud patches, and finishing one shoe short/carrying that teammates lost shoe, the boys also managed to place four madalists! Medaling Tuesday were Kolbe Mills - 4th, Vinny Ladner - 14th, Edward Frey - 18th, and Chase Boshoven - 23rd. Congrats on some exciting racing boys as you prepare for the Conference Final next week!

Falcons Win: 51 - 44
On a flat but slow course, the Boys Cross Country team ran strong in a pack and took home the Runner Up Trophy at Fruitport Saturday! Medaling as well as scoring for the Harriers were Kolbe and Malachi Mills and Vinny Ladner, 7th-9th, Edward Frey 13th, and Chase Boshoven 14th! Surviving bee stings while racing were freshmen Joseph Spielmaker, and Joey Nawrocki - who also earned the only PR of the day! Justin Marble had his fastest time this season as well. Runderful racing, boys!

Falcons Win: 120.00 - 38
The boys raced exceptionally fast Wednesday at the second conference meet of the season in Allendale. Of 10 West Catholic racers, eight beat their own personal goal, and six runners ran PR's, for a combined time reduction of four minutes and 37 seconds! Congratulations on your fastest race ever to Kolbe Mills, Chase Boshoven, Edward Frey, Colin Bacon, Joseph Spielmaker, and Joey Nawrocki! The boys will make a strong all out effort on Saturday at the Fruitport Invitational to claim the Winners Trophy! Go Fast Harriers!

The Boys Varsity Harriers had a great day of racing Saturday in perfect racing weather,under sunny, cool skies. Four out of six returning runners from the same race last year had significantly faster times, and Chase Boshoven, Edward Frey, and Colin Bacon all ran PR's! Congratulations on those fast times, gentlemen!

Last Wednesday the Boys Cross Country team ran to a fourth place finish in their first Conference Meet of the season, pushing Catholic Central to 5th by a close 4 points. Scoring for the Falcons were Kolbe Mills (14), Malachi Mills (17), Vinny Ladner (24), Chase Boshoven (27), and Edward Frey (28). Great Racing Boys!

Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team on their second place finish Monday at Gun Lake!
The boys had great times, with four of the top 5 Varsity runners medaling. Kolbe Mills was West's first finisher with a time of 18:00 flat, placing 7th overall. Following him in medaling were Malachi Mills - 10th, Chase Boshoven - 12th, and Edward Frey - 19th. Rounding out the five scorers was Vinny Ladner, placing 30th. Great Job, Boys!
