The West Catholic Falcons Varsity Baseball Team traveled to Coopersville and won the first game of the Conference DH 8-0. Gaetano Vallone and Nick Kimball combined for the shutout on the mound. Vallone picked up the win, pitching 5 2/3's allowing zero runs on three hits. He walked three and struck out eight before exiting the game on pitch count. Nick Kimball pitched the final 1 1/3 in the non-save situation. Kimball preserved the shutout, allowing one hit.
Offensively, the Falcons were paced by a balanced attack at the plate. Erik Bouwhuis led the way with three singles. Matt Bilski and Caden Wright added two hits apiece, while Tyler Hofmann, Gaetano Vallone, Spencer Vainavicz, and Bo Arndt each doubled in the game for the Falcons eleven hits.
With the win the Falcons improved to 5-2 in the OK Blue, 7-4 overall.
